Do You Want To Play Online Poker?

Are you of legal age to gamble already? Have some money to spare? And more importantly, do you find yourself excited or at the very least, curious, about playing online poker? If so, then you’ve come to the right place. A lot of people who are new to the online poker scene feel somewhat intimidated and helpless when it comes to playing online poker for the first time.

And at times, their nerves get the better of them. So instead of forging ahead and playing online poker, they back out and simply try to feel content with just watching Celebrity Poker on television or other professional poker tournaments. If you’re new to the online poker scene and would like a crash course about it then wait no more because we’re about to give it to you in three..two..

ONE game is all it takes to get you hooked because poker is truly an amazing game. First, it challenges your brains. Don’t believe people when they tell you that poker is an easy game to win. It’s not!

But it isn’t as difficult as solving as Rubic’s cube. When you play poker, whether you do so online or live, you’ll realize that your brain is challenged to come up with different scenarios for the two cards you’re holding with your hand. With those two cards, you should be able to do the following: determine whether it has a good chance of winning, determine your chances against the other players and determine whether it’s time to fold in the successive rounds.

Secondly, if you’re worried about the game getting dull when you’re waiting for other players to make a move by folding, calling or raising a bet, you need not worry. This is because online poker sites have foreseen this problem so they made sure they offer their members a lot of cool graphics and distractions if they need to while away the waiting time.

After gaining considerable experience in playing poker, you may be able to make a living out of online poker. I kid you not! Online poker is easier than playing live poker because it offers helpful statistics that will let you know which rooms have big pots and which ones are populated by inexperienced poker players whom you could – - take advantage of!

But like I said, to be able to reach this stage, you must first gain experience in playing online poker. Make sure, however, that you don’t overdo it by bankrupting yourself in the process.

An Introduction To Different Types Of Poker Games

While Texas Hold’em gets all the TV time, there is not game better for action than Omaha or Omaha Hi/Low. Omaha is played almost in the same manner as Texas Hold’em, the difference being that the player receives 4 hole cards instead of 2. The additional 2 cards almost assure that the best hand available is out there somewhere. One of the fascinating things about a lot of these different types of poker games is that they have Hi/Low versions. The stakes get higher when the person who has hit bets like mad to wipe out the chasers.

Though Texas Hold’em gets more attention, Omaha or Omaha Hi/Low is much better when it comes to action. It is quite similar to Hold’em, the difference is that the player gets 4 hole cards. The additional 2 cards almost assure that the best hand available is out there somewhere. The existence of Hi/Low versions in these games give them more appeal. The stakes get higher when the person who has hit bets like mad to wipe out the chasers.

The different games have to be played keeping different strategies in mind if you want to scoop the pot. Scoop the pot means to win both the Hi and the Low hands versus only having one dimension of the pot covered. All of the variables and the 4 hole cards guarantee that there is a ton of money in almost every pot.
Also it never hurts to rely on an informative texas hold em guide or take in several top poker books!

7 card stud is a great choice from the wide selection of poker games available. It comes with both Hi and Low versions. 2 cards are first distributed face down and then one with its face up. Every contender is dealt another card with its face up after one round of betting. This process goes on until each player has 2 down cards and 4 up cards. The final betting round takes place at this juncture.

Unlike other different types of poker games like Omaha, Holdem Stud Poker is not a chasers game. If you cannot better your hand till you reach the stage of getting the second up card, it is advisable to get out. You stand to lose everything. As it is necessary to keep in mind all the cards that have been dealt so far, this game requires brainpower too. You cannot afford to lose track of the cards already folded and look for the wrong card. Keep your eyes open and do not lose track of the cards on the board.

Razz is a poker game with a difference, just meant for people with bad luck. Instead of trying to get the winning hand, you are rooting for the worst hand possible. Unlike other games where having A-2-3-4-6-7-8 will have you banging your head, in Razz it is a dream hand. It is dealt and bet the same exact way as 7 stud, you just the lowest ranked hand on the board to win. As in regular stud, only 5 cards play.

Triple Draw is one more game which is drawing a lot of interest these days. It is one of the most thrilling and fun filled poker games. If you play a disciplined game, you can earn money. This game is played often at low levels for the fun of it. This game is more or less a version of Razz that uses 5 card draw as its model. You are dealt 5 cards and there is a round of betting. By discarding as many cards as you like, you should try to get the worst possible hand. 2-3-4-5-7 is a big thing for standard Triple Draw. After the first draw has been completed, there is another round of betting and then another discard round. Showdown occurs after a third draw followed by a round of betting. No pairs, flushes or straights are necessary to win. You want pure garbage and you scoop the pot.
