Know the value of each card. You should know the importance as well as the value of each cards to identify which one is the highest. Ace double up as the lowest card at times. The cards from 2, 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, Jack, Queen and King is the ascending order of importance and value of each card.
Each player should know which combination of cards has the highest value when compete with the opponents. Here are some combinations from the lowest to highest value: one pair, two pairs, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush, and royal flush. For example if your opponent has only two pairs and you have created a set of straight cards, then technically you win because straight cards has a greater value compare to two pairs.
Straight cards refer to numbers in order such as 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and it should consist of five cards no matter what their suit is. Flush refer to five cards with the same suit even not in sequence. Full house consists of three of a kind and one pair. Straight flush consists of cards in a sequential number and has the same suit. The best example for this is having a two hearts, three hearts, four hearts, five hearts and six hearts type of cards. On the other hand, royal flush consists of cards from 10, jack, queen, king and ace of the same suit.
