Playing Texas Hold ‘Em poker is simple. Trouble is, whilst it’s simple to play, it’s not actually easy to play and win. You can learn the basic rules quickly and easily. But the strategies involved aren’t as easy. The best way to learn is to get a quick guide to the card values and betting rounds, then start playing.

When you start playing, make sure it’s for money. Although all the main poker sites offer free games, these aren’t played the same way as real money games (think how often you “gamble” when you watch a quiz show on television versus how the people playing for money change). Keep a close eye on how game play changes with the number of players as well. The winner of each round is the player with the highest hand and your aim should be to bet more on your better hands.
