Raising middle pairs over limpers in the early stages (regardless of buy-in) is somewhat risky. You are likely to get better long term value from set mining cheaply. Most of these calls in early stages are correct for implied odds strategy. A five times raise is not a big hit to their stack and you mostly just don’t narrow the field enough. You’re immediately faced with a more difficult decision regarding a continuation bet man you’ve got over cards on the board. People cannot really answer this question because there is real answer, it’s a bit like asking how was the universe created and what came first the chicken or the egg. A lot of people try to steer away from gambling because they believe that they will get addicted and end up losing all of their hard earned cash, but I on the other hand think that if done correctly gambling can earn you a nice bit of extra cash like it has for me.
I personally started playing when I was about 19 years old and to be honest I lost quite a bit of my money when I first started, I believe it was because I was a bit naïve and thought I was the best player. No limit hold’em poker is a strategy card game in which you need to be very concerned about which hands you play. It’s not the amount of hands you play, it’s the quality of the hands that you play and the probability of each of them being money makers. When it gets right down to it, the hands you play must be winners. I travel quite a lot these days; my job has taken me all over the world and back. Its shocking how many cultures and traditions I get to see. One of my main monthly tasks is to fly out to America for a few days to speak to the directors of the company. The flight can be a very long one and take as long as 10 hours.
